Sport – Seventh medal for the French team Tokyo Olympics. Two hours after the coronation Clarice Agbabno In judo, young Altia Lorin won a bronze medal at the taekwondo tournament in the over 67 kg category.
At the age of 19, she was overseen by French woman Ivorian Charlene Troy.
They conceded that this victory in the “small final” would not have the taste of victory, but Altia Lorraine had a great journey to compete in the Olympics for the first time. They became Olympic champions in the quarter-finals with honors against the man who won the title in London in 2012.
“I am happy to have won the bronze medal. I think the emotion comes when I get the medal around my neck. I still don’t understand what’s going on, I think. But I still have the bitterness of not winning the Olympic final, ”she said before entering the stage.
Alta Lor had to do karate
She was licensed at Asniേres in the Paris area and could never do taekwondo. The young woman likes to be reminded of this story: when she had to register for karate at Epinei-sur-Sean at the age of seven, a problem in the queue led her to Taekwondo.
Yet one mistake led her to the right path: leading her to a European title in Sarajevo in December 2020, and then seven months later to an Olympic bronze in Tokyo.
Altia Lorraine continues the tradition of French taekwondo, which has always won medals since entering the Olympic program in Sydney in 2000. But the discipline is still looking for its first crown.
