Allegations of corruption
BERLIN / Vienna (DPA) – Austrian director Stefan Rusovitsky has criticized the current political situation in his own country in the wake of allegations of corruption.
“The arc is clearly stretched,” Rusovitsky said, “over the weekend.” “Kurs and his party can only recognize this as quickly as possible and come to conclusions.”
When asked if the current situation in Austria, which has been used for corruption for years, has another quality, the filmmaker said: “Yes, there is a new kind of professionalism in implementing power conservation measures and influencing newspapers and newspapers. Rusovitsky (59) won the 2008 Oscar for Best Non-English Language Film in Hollywood. His current film “Hinterland” won the Audience Award at the Locarno Festival.
In Austria, corruption investigations against Chancellor Kurs and his closest circle led to a government crisis. As an ally of the conservative ÖVP, the Greens now feel that the head of government is unsustainable.
