According to DeadlineThe new adaptation will be a departure from the previous BBC series starring Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small, which aired for six seasons from 2001-2008.
The cast of the new ones Linley leading Leo Suter (Vikings: Valhalla) and Sophia Barclay (Ted Lasso), starring DI Thomas Linley and DS Barbara Havers, an aristocratic police detective and a maverick sergeant from a working-class background. Together, the mismatched pair form a formidable team bound together by their desire to see justice done, while the series tackles issues around identity, gender and class.
