Third-rower Cailan Dorris, 26, has been named as Ireland captain for the November Tests, replacing Peter O'Mahony, who is an injury doubt, the federation announced on Wednesday. The defending champions of the Six Nations tournament, the Clover XV welcome New Zealand, Argentina, Fiji and Australia to the Aviva Stadium in Dublin in November.
Peter O'Mahony (107 caps) captained the 35-man group selected by coach Andy Farrell for the 2024 summer tour, but the third winger is recovering from a hamstring injury. 35 years old “Part of the extended group and will continue rehabilitation with Munster next week with a view to returning to competition in the coming weeks,” Federation said.
