The meeting was a part of party general secretary and state president To Lam's visit to Ireland.
Graham Harrington spoke highly of Tu Lamin's visit, saying it contributed significantly to consolidating traditional ties between the two countries, expanding their co-operation and promoting links between the PCV and Ireland's political parties.
He said the Communist Party of Ireland is ready to work to strengthen the relationship between the two parties, the two countries and the two peoples.
Le Hoai Trung briefed the host on Vietnam's achievements and lessons from nearly 40 years of Doi Moi (Renovation), and foreign policy that emphasizes ties with Communist parties and traditional friends.
Highlighting new developments in the relationship between Vietnam and Ireland, both welcomed the opening of the Vietnamese embassy in the host country, which they hope will help strengthen and open opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
They also exchanged views on some regional and international issues of common interest. – V.N.A
