How Bordeaux is preparing to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup

A completely secure rugby village will be established at the Saint-Michel Sports Park in the heart of Bordeaux. It will be a place of festive entertainment, catering in favor of short circuits and broadcasting of matches to supporters and residents.

In addition, Bordeaux Metropole will offer a multidisciplinary entertainment program. The community called for projects with a cover of €250,000 intended for associations, communities and companies with a sporting and cultural proposition around the values ​​of rugby. Programming should begin in the spring of 2023. A “traveling container” will set out to meet the inhabitants of Metropolis. There will be activities around rugby.

200 volunteers will be recruited

During the competition, the prefecture and Keolis TBM will implement a mobility plan to accommodate matches at the stadium and rugby village. Special attention will be given to soft travel and public transport. To put all these systems into action, Bordeaux Metropole will recruit 200 volunteers from January 9 to March 17, 2023, who will integrate the missions of welcoming and informing the public, logistics and organization at the heart of the event. and awareness of sustainable development.
