Published on

Music is what makes the island of Ireland unique in the world, and is one of the (many) cultural traditions it shares with Brittany. Irish Tourism wants to introduce its traditional music to Bretons by offering an open-air concert on Friday 2 September to celebrate the appointment of Brittany Ferries President Jean-Marc Roux as Honorary Consul of Ireland in Brittany.

A free concert

That evening, talented musicians Torkan will give Free performance in the petanque area from 7pm to 9.30pm..
The group comes straight from Cork, the gateway to Ireland from Roscoff for ferry passengers. Led by Jason Turk (a multi-medal winner in the All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil) and his brother Rob, with bassist Brian Leech and percussionist Davy Ryan, the evening’s guest stars mix traditional Irish melodies with original compositions. Styles include Cajun, Scandinavian, Classical, Dance, and Rock music.

Brittany Ferries will double the Roscoff-Cork link

Monica McLaverty, Southern Europe Director at Irish Tourism, says: “Brittany is a priority region for tourism in Ireland thanks to strong links, similarities, inter-connectivity and better access in many areas. The Roscoff-Cork link has been doubled for the 2022 season and the years to come. A real pledge of faith in Irish tourism from Brittany Ferries. The city of Roscoff is also testament to the strength of these links, our global initiative.” St. Patrick’s Day through its many years of partnership with the lighting of the iconic buildings of “Global Greenings”. That’s why we are absolutely delighted to be able to bring Roskovits a glimpse of our incredible musical culture that sets us apart around the world. »
