“A tsunami is certain for the next 30 years” in Tempo

There is a strong risk of a tsunami in the next 30 years. This risk is estimated to be “almost 100%”. This was revealed in a study inviting the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture to prepare coastal cities.

The most dangerous places are Marseille (France), Alexandria (Egypt) and Istanbul (Turkey). These cities are likely to be hit by waves more than a meter high in the next 30 years. According to UNESCO, many coastal communities in the Mediterranean are falling into dangerous areas due to rising sea levels.
