The lawsuit was probably funded by Influ and Inile after a search of 219 Ryanair employees at the Orio Al Serio airport.
The European Court of Justice gives a point to the age-old question of seeing Ryanair at the center of a four million euro non-payment case. The judges’ decision included 219 employees of Irish Airlines working inside Orio Al Serio Airport, who are – in the opinion of the court – subject to Italian social security legislation and therefore need Inps and Inail insurance.
An inspection at Bergamo Airport identified Ryan Air flight attendants who were not included in the E101 certificate. Employees work forty-five minutes a day inside the airline’s room (called the “crew room”), which is intended to accommodate employees, and the remaining working hours they fly on an Irish Airlines flight.
Inps and Inail have filed a lawsuit alleging that 219 operators assigned to Orio Al Serio Airport were working in Italian territory. After numerous appeals, the Supreme Court referred the matter to the European Court, which ruled in favor of both institutes. Ryanair will now have to pay നാല് 4 million for non-insurance to INPS (period between June 2006 and February 2010) and Inail for non-aircraft work risks (period between January 25, 2008 and January 25, 2013). The consulting company of the courier Bergamo who reported the news has not yet clarified this.
