Soon there will be hot dishes from the Selecta machine

Published on

Like coming out of a sci-fi movie, in the future you can buy hot food from select machines. This idea should be possible across Europe.

In short the essentials

  • Select machines where you can buy snacks are distributed all over Switzerland.
  • Now and in the future, these machines can also provide hot food.
  • The idea is to spread across Europe.

Press the button once, wait a few seconds and take out the hot alpine macaroni that is steaming from the machine. Swiss machine operator Selecta wants to make this possible soon. To this end, he has expanded his partnership with Swiss food tech company Carogasto, as Selecta announced on Tuesday.

Both companies want to provide hot food all day long from vending machines together.

Hot dishes at the press of a button

Within 30 to 45 seconds of pressing a button, customers will receive steamed food. The so-called “CCC Quimar” from Carogasauto notices this, identifies the dish by a QR code and heats it accordingly.

According to the announcement, Selecta will offer resources in all 16 European countries already active. This includes neighboring Switzerland, Spain, Ireland, Great Britain, Benelux and Scandinavia. The dishes also offer gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan options.
