Northern Ireland requires a “Covid Passport” to enter a pub The world

Published on

Northern Ireland’s ministers on Wednesday approved a measure called the “Covid Passport” to allow entry into pubs and other establishments from December 13. Scotland and Wales are expected to take similar steps next week to stem the tide of the disease.

Northern Ireland reported 1,848 Covid-19 cases today, the highest in nearly three months. The “Financial Times” reports that the new rules will require vaccination proof to enter other places, including pubs, nightclubs, cinemas and some outdoor events.

The move, approved by the Northern Ireland government, comes after the re-imposition of a number of restrictions, including a night curfew, on some companies against neighboring Ireland Kovid-19. Irish authorities have asked companies to allow office workers to return home whenever possible.

Wales has already charged Kovid passports at major events, which will be required in cinemas, theaters and concert halls from next Monday. Scotland are expected to announce similar measures next Tuesday.

Unlike other countries, including the United Kingdom, the number of Covid-19 cases in England has dropped to a record high in mid-October. At the time, Boris Johnson’s government resisted pressure to reintroduce restrictions and decided to accelerate the promotion of booster doses of the Kovid-19 vaccine.

Many European countries have announced new restrictions in recent days to encourage vaccination of those who have not yet been vaccinated as part of efforts to stem the spread of infectious diseases across the region.
