Portugal go into rematch, Serbia qualifies, Ireland beat Luxembourg – 11/14/2021

The 10th round of the World Cup qualifiers kicked off today (Sunday 14) in Group A. The two clashes between Portugal, Serbia, Luxembourg and Ireland began at the same time. In search of qualification, the Portuguese team lost 2-1 to the Serbian team and Luxembourg lost 3-0 to Ireland.

In a direct clash with the vice-leader, the Portuguese team will have to try their luck in the 2022 play-offs. With Sunday’s defeat, the Serbs took the lead of the group with 20 points from six wins and two draws. There is no defeat. Thus, the rating is guaranteed. Portugal are currently second with 17 points from five wins and two draws and one defeat.

Another game responsible for determining the final round of the group stage was between Luxembourg and Ireland. The Irish won 3-0 in a head-to-head encounter. Ireland overtook Luxembourg to finish third with nine points from eight games, including two wins, three draws and three defeats. Luxembourg became the group’s vice lantern with nine points. The goal difference between the two teams is the goal difference as Luxembourg has a negative balance.
