Seville / Lisbon (DPA) – Spain and Serbia have qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Spain beat Sweden 1-0 (0-0) to advance to the playoffs.

Portugal secured a safe ticket at home against Serbia in stoppage time, shaking after 1: 2 (1: 1).

The Spaniards dominated the match in front of their own fans, led by German referee Felix Breich. Alvaro Morata did not score in the 86th minute. Sweden played without star striker Slaton Ibrahimovic in the starting line-up, and rarely radiated danger. Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig missed the best chance (40).

Greece beat Kosovo 1: 1 (1: 0) in the second match of Group B. Amir Rahmani (76) equalized with the opening goal of Giorgos Masouras (44).

Former Munich – based Renato Sanchez (second) gave Portugal the lead early on. The Serbs put pressure, and thanks to Dusan Tadik, they got the compensation they deserved (33rd). At the stoppage time Alexander Mitrovic led the Serbian to joy. Ireland secured third place in Group A with a 3-0 (0-0) win over Luxembourg.
