TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – WhatsApp Eventually its messaging app brought the much-requested feature to the service. Introduced earlier this year, the company has now removed the need for mobile online connectivity to allow the platform to be used on multiple devices.
Previously, users had to have a consistent internet connection to the Internet Smartphone The messaging service can be used on another device, such as a desktop PC or laptop. In other words, the app must be linked to the phone to sync the conversation.
But now, after several months of beta testing, the giant Messaging App Meta users are allowed to disable this requirement completely on any linked device. So, users can now run WhatsApp without connecting the phone.
The company has now limited the total number of devices that can connect to the app simultaneously with the handset logo to four. It works under a new feature called ‘Linked Devices’.
After enabling this, WhatsApp will delete all previously connected devices and you will have to manually re-add them. Now, devices can actually run chats for free.
The feature does not currently work on tablets, and the iPhone has some limitations, such as not being able to delete conversations on a connected device. For security, the company has also added an automatic disconnect feature to these connected devices if WhatsApp does not work on the flagship smartphone within 14 days.
