July 2021 is the hottest month on Earth, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency (NOAA) said on Friday, highlighting the role of climate change in this new record.
First place here is the worst
NOAA chief Rick Spinrad said in a statement.
July is usually the hottest month of the year, but July 2021 surpassed itself and became July and the hottest month on record. This new record adds to the path of anxiety and unrest that climate change has created around the world.
The planet’s global surface temperature was 0.01 ൽ C higher than the previous hottest July 2016 (then associated with the months of 2019 and 2020).
Surveys began 142 years ago, the NOAA said.
The European Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) last week estimated July 2021 as the third warmest July on Earth.
It is common for agencies to make small differences in their data.
