Oslo / London (dpa) – Norwegian King Harald has expressed five condolences over the catastrophic floods in Germany and elsewhere.

In a message to Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the 84-year-old King said he was saddened by the floods. Express my condolences to the bereaved or distressed in this tragedy. He also sent a message of the same name to King Philip of Belgium.

Prince William and his wife Duchess Kate (39), the second in command of the British throne, are concerned. “The devastation and damage caused by the floods in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands is devastating,” Kensington Palace said on Twitter.
