Two-time Commonwealth Online games gold medallist Heena Sidhu on Tuesday hailed the banning of the movie-sharing social networking app TikTok. It was a single of the 59 Chinese apps that the Indian govt banned on Monday due to stability fears.

“I’m so happy that tiktok is long gone. With the detest videos and animal abuse films that I have been coming throughout getting posted on tiktok… I am so content. Online will be a happier area with no tiktok!!!” Sidhu tweeted on Tuesday.
“It truly is not absent still but I hope the govt follows through. The responsibility lies with the developers for allowing for such written content to grow to be not just noticeable but viral. Except if they improve their norms for written content uploading this app shouldn’t have a position in our life,” the Indian Olympian explained.
The federal government on Monday banned 59 Chinese apps in excess of countrywide safety considerations as India-China bilateral relations continue to be strained immediately after the death of 20 Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley clash with Chinese PLA troops in jap Ladakh.
Other Chinese apps in the banned record are Club Factory, SHAREit, Likee, Mi Movie Simply call (Xiaomi), Weibo, Baidu, Bigo Dwell and other folks.
TikTok on Tuesday claimed it is in the approach of complying with the Indian federal government purchase to ban 59 Chinese apps, which includes TikTok, and is not sharing any facts of Indian end users with the Chinese govt.
