The Swiss women’s team will face the Czech Republic in April for the playoffs to qualify for the final round of Euro 2022 in England. The selection will be led by world number one Nils Nielsen.
The Czech Republic is currently ranked eighth in the world, unlike the Swiss selection, who have yet to reach the final round of the European Championships.
During their first appearance at Euro 2017 in the Netherlands, they outscored the Swiss Czech Republic on the way to qualifying with 2 clear wins.
In the final qualifying round, the Czechs finished second behind Spain in their group. The top 4 finishers lost the Swiss direct qualification while the top 3 won tickets. The ASF lost all chances of election in the decisive battle, which they lost 4-0 to Belgium in early December.
Three more places need to be filled for the final round. Ukraine against Northern Ireland and Portugal against Russia are the other two round-trip playoff posters.
