The eastern coast of the United States is going to be hit by the worst winter storm of 50 years, with 50 million people on their way to snowfall.
Snowfall is expected up to two feet (60 cm) off the east coast, extending from North Carolina to northeastern New England.
“Most of the area, along the coast, will be a mixture of rain, snow, and perhaps snow and ice,” said Sarah Johnson, a New Jersey weather service meteorologist.
“The further you go inland, the more snow you see.”
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio asked people to “take this seriously” in a message posted online.
Mr. de Blasio added that the alert of a storm coming there could not be my worst Jamay until the 8mf snow cover of the New Yorkers Jayaratnam.
The mayor said salt spreaders and snow plows will operate throughout the city, telling commuters to use public transportation or stay home from work.
In a message to parents, he told them, “If the snow is bad, we have to close the school buildings and get ready with an alternative on Thursday.”
Shattering the expectations of a snowy day, children need to learn “whether they are happy with it or not” if they have to stay at home once the distance learning begins.

Heavy snowfall is expected in Maryland and Pennsylvania, with places like Boston and Washington DC in Massachusetts also hit hard.
This may be the first major storm of the season, lasting until March, threatening to disrupt the area for months.
