UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock told the House of Commons that a new strain of the corona virus had been identified in England.
In a statement, Hancock said: “Over the past few days, thanks to our world-class genomic potential in the UK, we have identified a new variant of the corona virus that may be linked to the rapid spread in the south of England.”
Matt Hancock said the number of new variants of the corona virus is growing rapidly.
He told Commons: “Preliminary analysis indicates that this variant is growing faster than the current variant.
Although we have found cases in over 60 local authority areas, we have found more than a thousand cases, mainly in the south of England.
Hancock added: “There is currently nothing to indicate that this variant can cause serious illness and the latest clinical advice is that this mutation is unlikely to fail to respond to a vaccine but the latest clinical advice. It shows that we must be careful and follow the rules, and everyone must take personal responsibility to prevent the spread of this virus.
“I have to tell the church that last week we saw a very sharp and exponential rise in the virus in London, Kent, Essex and Hertfordshire.
“We do not know how long it will last because of the new variant, but for no apparent reason, prompt and decisive action must be taken. Unfortunately, it is essential to control this deadly disease when the vaccine is released.”
He made it clear that London would move to the highest level of the Covid-19 restrictions from Wednesday as a result of soaring case rates.
He told the Commons: “So we decided to move to Greater London, south and west of Essex, which includes Basildon, Brentwood, Harlow, Epping Forest, Castle Point, Roachford, Maldon, Braintree and Chelmsford. -On-Sea Borough Councils also enter Tier 3, south of Hertfordshire, i.e. Brooksborne, Hertzsmeier, Watford, and Three Rivers Local Authority, which has a very high alert level.
“This means that people can only see friends and family with a support bubble in public places where they do not live or support, and that is, of course, in accordance with the Sixth Law.
“Hospitality arrangements, except for takeaways and deliveries, should be stopped, people should avoid traveling outside their area and the number of trips should be reduced where possible.”
Hancock said the action to be taken was absolutely necessary.
He told MPs: “I know this is tough news and plans will go awry and it will have a significant impact on the businesses affected, but this action is not only to keep people safe, we can prevent further damage and lingering problems later because of the early action.
“These restrictions will take effect at midnight on Wednesday, because as the virus moves faster, we too must move faster, and we must take easy but effective steps.
“We will continue to be more influential through our Farluff scheme and support for self-employment, we have already started mobile testing in these parts of London, Essex and Kent, and we are expanding community testing.
“In addition, this weekend we are expanding this to 67 local authorities across the UK as part of an expansion of community testing and I will be able to publish a guide for colleagues, support and make champions. Local community testing and contact tracing. ”
GPs in England release vaccine amid new Christmas warnings
Family doctors across the UK are starting to vaccinate patients against Kovid-19 as health experts issue new warnings about an increase in cases caused by Christmas socialization.
GP practices in more than 100 locations will begin giving Fischer / Biotech vaccine this afternoon, and people over the age of 80 are called upon to accept the job.
Care home residents in Scotland will also begin to receive the vaccine, and those in care homes in England will be able to see the rowing teams giving the job from this weekend.
The NHS England Director of Primary Care, Dr. Mohd. Nikita Kanani requested.
“If you can ask people to wait a moment and get in touch, general practices are already in place, which is commendable,” she told BBC Radio 4’s Today program.
Meanwhile, Business Secretary Alok Sharma told BBC Breakfast that arrangements were being made to ensure that the supply of vaccines would not be disrupted in the event of a non-transactional break-in.
He added that there were “millions” of Pfizer / biotech vaccines in the UK before Christmas.
“We are moving as fast as we can about the vaccination program,” he said.
Vaccination centers will operate from surgeons’ surgeries or community hubs in rural, urban and urban areas. More than 70 UK hospital hubs will come after jobs are offered.
GP leaders have warned that monitoring patients 15 minutes after a job is a challenge for some systems with limited space, especially when following social distance rules.
Some GP surgeons have called for help in their communities, requesting that dodoor marks or tents be heated so that observations can be made outside.
This is because experts have issued new warnings about meeting family and friends for Christmas – which is widely expected to lead to an increase in cases.
By law, people can form a “Christmas bubble” between December 23 and 27 in more than three homes.
Devi Sridhar, a professor of global public health at the University of Edinburgh, warned that the virus “spreads like cigarette smoke” inside the home and that people can get sick easily.
She told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: “This is a worry about Christmas, because once you’ve entered someone’s house, you may be infected with the virus.
“The first thing I tell people is that we have a vaccine corner – Pfizer has already been released and AstraZeneca is on its way.
“So in a matter of weeks people are going to be vaccinated and given safety, otherwise they will be in danger.
“Second, NHS staff are exhausted and urge patients to be vigilant and not get sick, because they are the ones who have to show up at the hospital on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s and take care of everyone who comes through.
“Third, look at what happened in the states with American Thanksgiving.
“You should only read stories. Look at the figures to see what happens if people are not careful now at Christmas time.”
The first review of England’s tire allocation will take place on Wednesday. NHS providers representing hospital trusts in the UK have called for extreme caution in moving any area of the country to the lowest level, while the range of restrictions should be changed to the highest level “as soon as it is needed, without delay”.
A government spokesman said ministers would not hesitate to take the necessary steps to protect local communities.
Meanwhile, schools in Greenwich have been told to close from this evening and switch to online learning following the “exponential growth” of the corona virus in the south-east London borough.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said the government should consider asking schools and colleges to close in the capital just before Christmas and reopen in January.
