A Northern Ireland bus company has canceled a shopping tour from Derry to Dundrum Town Center in Dublin and apologized for trying to organize the trip.
GD Tours posted on social media on Wednesday that $ 25 worth of seats are available for the return journey from Derry to the center, which departs at 7am on Saturday, December 5th.
“Shops in the north will be closed tomorrow [Thursday] At 12 midnight! South reopens 30 Mondays to sell seats and relax in Ireland’s largest shopping center !! That said.
The Derry-based company said in a statement on Thursday: “After a double check of the travel restrictions on the shopping trip to Dunedrome, I’m sorry again if I have hurt anyone now, thank you for all the interest. ”
The Dundrum Town Center had earlier said that the trip was “not in line with government guidelines” and that the organizer had no connection with the center.
We want to welcome customers back to the center, and all visits must comply with government guidelines. We urge all visitors to be responsible and to consider others when visiting, ”it said.
The state is set to exit Level 5 restrictions after Tuesday, and is expected to allow shops it deems necessary to reopen next week.
In Northern Ireland, pubs, restaurants, non-essential retail and close contact services will be closed for two weeks before Christmas to prevent the spread of the virus.
