You may have recently heard that the Times Splitter 2 remake is in progress, with a reference to THQ Nordic’s strategy-RPG game. Mistake 3: Fallen God. “It’s finally coming!” Tells the item description for a Times Splitter 2 box. “The Iconic Shooter of Time to Enter the Age of Modern Games.”
Item description in French can be found below:
It’s an exciting joke – Times Splitter 2 was released in 2002 for the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox, but did not make it to the PC – and is very credible: the coach developer who owns the Times Splitter in 2018 owns the original developer Free Radical Design, and now Thunderbird is as tech-savvy.
Unfortunately, everything seems to be red herring. “It’s just an innocent Easter egg,” said a THQ Nordic representative Eurogamer. “The vendor in the game is a character who is especially known for not telling the truth.”
Vendor sells items that refer to “canceled” biomotive and gothic games, and according to the site, none of these have actually been canceled.
This is not to say that Times Splitter 2 will not finally make it to PC, especially THQ Nordic’s approach to reviving old games. Sorry, the actual announcement of a remake for PC does not seem to be happening anytime soon.
