The couple, wrapped in the family’s past, approached Whitaker with tears in their eyes.
Revealing the biggest and deepest secrets of her family during Hu Do You Think You Are, the Doctor Hu actress traveled up and down the country.
But the story of an ancestor, her great-uncle John Walter Clements, joined her more than anyone else.
The pair spoke with World War I experts and found themselves in an old military hospital near Southampton, treating wounded soldiers on the continent between 1914 and 1918.
She found that John Walter, who had passed by Walter, had arrived on the battlefield with serious injuries.

Experts explained that Walter’s injury was enough to prevent him from returning to the Western Front and instead serving on the home turf.
But, according to records, Walter was forced to return to war.
At the end of the war in 1918 Walter was in a hospital near Salford.

It was there that he died at the age of 24.
“It’s very frustrating,” Jodie said. “He went through a lot of battles. It’s very sad.”
The couple, who followed Walter and buried him, are thought to have buried him in East Finchley Cemetery in London, where a large part of his family lived.

She began to wonder if Walter’s mum Eliza would be involved in bringing her son’s body home from Salford.
“There seems to be some involvement here from Eliza,” the pair calculated, “… uneasiness.”
“She has nine children around her, and for the other children, they got this place to celebrate and celebrate someone’s little life.

“I’m a little disappointed to go, because I want to visit the grave.”
The pair finally find Walter’s grave.
Who do you think you are? It will air on BBC One at 9pm on Monday, and next week BGT Judge David Valiums will find out his genealogy.
