Higher Education Minister Simon Harris urges parents and children to avoid this Halloween strategy or treatment to prevent the further spread of Kovid-19.
In the Republic of Ireland last night 814 new cases were detected and two more deaths were announced by the Department of Health.
The 14-day incidence in three cases was more than 300, and 198 people were hospitalized last night for treatment.
In connection with Halloween, let me say this, it will be different this year.
Harris said that this year Halloween will be different and that trick or treat is not a good idea.
“I’ve got a lot of contacts from a lot of kids asking about Halloween, and in the past when we were sharp and honest with our kids, they responded with that kind of response,” Harris said.
“It’s very difficult for them.
He added: “In relation to Halloween, let me tell you, it will be different this year. Starting trapping everyone’s home is not a good idea, but it does not mean you will not have a good time.
“That’s not to say you can not dress in a scary way, it’s not that your mum or dad can get home treats, watch a spooky movie or play some games.”
