902 Covid-19 cases were reported in Northern Ireland

In the last 24 hours, 902 new cases of corona virus have been reported in Northern Ireland.

Tests were performed on 5,836 individuals, of which six out of six tested positive.

The Department of Health and Occupational Health remains at 587 as no deaths are reported on weekends.

902 is 178 less than the daily record recorded yesterday, but is equivalent to 2,300 cases in the Republic based on population size.

There are 134 confirmed Kovid-19 patients in the hospital. 19 are in the intensive care unit. Eleven of these patients were on ventilators.

The seven-day infection rate is 291 per 100,000 population in Northern Ireland.

The worst area rate – Derry, Strabain – is currently 872.1.

The next worst area is Belfast, where the seven-day rate is 407.1

Meanwhile, Deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill tested negative for the corona virus.
