2-0, Switzerland beat Northern Ireland in European qualifiers

This Sunday, Switzerland beat Northern Ireland 2-0 in a match valid for the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. With goals from Steven Zuber and Fassnach, the Swiss remain second in the group.

Target canceled
At the start of the match, Switzerland attacked to put pressure on Northern Ireland, which was effective in a short time. In the seventh minute of the game, the Swiss managed to get the ball into the net with Denis Zacharia but the move was canceled by VAR.

Northern Ireland had a hard time losing a player in the first leg. In the 23rd minute, Jamal Lewis committed a foul and received a yellow card. Fourteen minutes later, the left-back sent the referee.

The first goal
In the additions of the first phase, Switzerland finally found the first target of the confrontation. With 49 minutes left on the clock, the Swiss moved on to the attack and, with the help of striker Briel Embolo, Steven Suber put the Swiss into the net.

At the end of the confrontation, Switzerland ended their account and expanded their gains. The Swiss scored the second goal with Fasnach in the 48th minute, after heavy pressure against Northern Ireland throughout the second half.

Switzerland took on Lithuania at 15:45h (GMT) on Tuesday. Northern Ireland also entered the field on the same day and faced Bulgaria at the same time.
