While there are photographs of the surface of Mars … there is also a photo of the rover landing on Mars. NASA scientist Pauline Wang said they were shocked by the stunning image and felt that they had somehow succeeded. The photo was made possible by Mars Rover’s booster rocket Sky Crane System.
Scientists estimate that the rover was photographed six feet (2 m) above the surface of Mars. The Mars Perspective Rover is now said to be safe on the surface of Mars … more beautiful photographs to come.
The best is yet to come.
